Welcome to Dread & Roses, a blog about politics, economics, culture and arts from a left/feminist/Welsh angle. As the UK settles in to 5 years of Trump-a-like Tory government, I am here to give you dread (mostly), but roses too (occasionally).
About Me:
I'm currently studying for an Economics MSc at UCL, focusing on social welfare, inequality, feminist economics and how children are (not) accounted for, after graduating Philosophy and Economics in 2015 (with some documentary researching and TESOL teaching in between). After being raised by a community paediatrician, my politics essentially boil down to this:
So expect a lot of rants about how our societies and political discourse marginalise children and caregivers.
I also write about mental health and addiction, pop culture, the Welsh language, feminism and more - very occasionally through the medium of song(!).
